random lockups

my computer is not the best of the bundle here is what i'm running

System
Microsoft windows xp pro

Computer
AMD athlon 1.25 processor
256mb ram
nvidia gefore 2 FX
nvidia windows 2000/xp display drivers


i was playing SI when this first happened , i know i'm under spec for SI which does cos framerate drop anyways most of the time but when this happens my framerate doesn't drop on the ingame counter and daoc just freezes up.

so i thought maybe it was just SI so i switched to classic and carried on playing now classic runs alot better than SI and it's still doing it

framerate on the counter doesn't change and daoc stops dead till it boots me out
i've tried to change graphics settings ( even though theres not many on my graphics card) and this still hasn't made difference.

i'm pretty sure my drivers for my graphics card are up to date but i'll have a look.
any help would be great

have u got the latest nvidia drivers?

as these are well known as being cack

drop down a few versions of the drivers (it makes little difference nowadays)

im runnin may 2003 versions and its all fine here

i've updated my drivers , the ones i had were older and haven't played enough to see if the new ones make a difference , thanks for the info
