As for rain in manchester, when i started uni in UMIST, my tutor said:

We had a massive storm about 3pm here in Oxford. Not seen such heavy rain and thunder and lightning quite like that before. The rain lasted about half an hour, had a couple of powercuts then it cleared up. The thunder went on for about an hour after it stopped raining though.

LOL, who doesn't know of Brucie... Not really seen him DJ, though I hope he's a better DJ than his prospects as a gameshow presenter. I seem to remember he was involved in various Korumba events (which was our local in the first year).

On the plane to go on holiday a few weeks ago, we had to fly around a huge storm over the Alps. I am glad I had a window seat. It was just darkness untill the lightning started. Lots and lots of huge bolts illuminating the whole storm outside the window. I really wish I had a camera and place windows were clearer.

Also heard that the Hanger land underpass had about 4ft of water in it!
