There are some absolutely beautiful shots in this film. Fucking brilliant.

Not a bad film either tbh!

Yes a classic.

Am watching Ali right now and am pleasantly suprised at Will Smith's performance.

Although I am still bored.

Hey mank!, if you like Raging Bull, make sure you watch 'The King of Comedy', another Scorcese/DeNiro film. Very much underrated, really good film, lots of political stuff going on behind the scenes, which only makes the film better.

Raging Bull was a box office flop, which helped put Scorcese in the frame of mind he was in while directing tKoC.

I'm going to try and get hold of all the Scorsese/De Niro films.

I have to say I didn't like this film. Not because of the quality of the acting or direction, just I was totally turned off by the main characters who seemed so utterly loathsome and stupid I wasn't sure how to respond to it. Are you supposed to be supportive of Robert DeNiro's character or what? Because it seemed impossible.

Henry Cooper MBE.

I can't believe you don't know him?

His catchphrase in the 1970's was "Splash it all over" from a series of piss poor adverts for Brut 33, the aftershave of pikeys.

Heh erm...thanks :)

I quite enjoyed Ali btw but couldn't stop thinking about Michael Mann (director) and bloody Miami Vice - soundtrack was too obtusive and a few too many "gaze into the beyond to look thoughtful shots".

When We Were Kings is pure class, totally recommend that if you want to see a boxing flick (documentary of the Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire '74, Foreman vs Ali).

I liked this film a lot, Pesci has a habit of spazzing out on people.

And slamming their head in car doors :E
