Well ye im thinking about upgrading my pc very soon. Im using this pc atm:
Abit nf7 mb with Amd 2600xp@10x230=2300 mhz 2x512 pc4000 from adata.
And I have a good 5900xt@450 core/ 800 mem. Giving me around 5700 points in 3dmark 03 and 47000 points in aquamark3 .
But im not happy with the fps when im using toa client..around 30 fps with all fluff on(trees, shadows, toa water etc) at 1152x864 resolution.

So what u think is the best option for me?

Tbh you wont get much better FPS, with a new card.

The x800's only support current Direct X 9 capabilities so once the next features of DirectX 9.c/10 come out ure card wont support them. Kinda pointless, the compatibility with A64's and DAoC:ToA aint being shown to me yet, I can try out a A64 with ToA next week when my friend gets his 3800A64+ :)

If I was you I would just get a Radeon 9800 Pro or XT. (Just out of my own choices due to the current dislike of the Ge-Force chipsets, NForce great Ge-Force *sighs*)

If you got that kinda cash why dont you try out a new Mobo as well, im running a DFI NForce 2 Ultra 400 and they are the nicest things EVER! for overclocking, the ratio's on the RAM and the Voltage and FSB settings you can get if the CPU is right ;) are just great :)

I almost went for the epox myself, to the point where i actually pre-ordered it.
In the end i went for the MSI Neo2 Platinum as it supports the new 939 socket chips and Dual channel DDR

Tbh, if you only daoc it's overkill

Atm I run same resolution as you, I have all the fluffs on too
running a 1800+ @ 2,65Ghz (232FSB), 9800XT at stock speeds (Hercules suck at oc ;( ) and I'm not having any problems, fraps shows me 35-40FPS in epic scale rvr :0
Tweak you're windows, grab windows 2000, keep ur registery clean, be sure not too many tasks are running and I'm sure you'll have a greater fps :>

Im sure its the 2,65Ghz cpu that keep your fps so high with all on. U have water cooling for cpu or? seams high for an athlon xp?

You'll get better FPS. An x800 or gf6800 is a lot faster even on old games. And DAoC won't be using any of the fancy stuff in DX10 anyway.

I would go AMD 64/P4 With Hyperthreading and a top end GFX card, Nvidia atm, merely because it provides 3d acceleration to multiple screens + 2GB of memory and then go and run a windowed version of DAOC on each 2 screens.
