radeon 9700 pro from a 9500 with a bit of solder?

So you can buy a 9500 and turn it into a 9700 pro after some soldering and a bios flash.

Anyone tried this, or have you BW tech people tried it? For some reason, i smell shite....

Its not a conversion from 9500 to 9700 Pro version, it is a conversion to the 9700 non pro version. Xbits labs also did a GF4 into a Quadro trick, no doubt they stole the information from some where else, but it was only a Quadro by driver name.

TBH it isn't worth the risk of damaging the GPU.
