I know its a long shot, But does anyone know if there any are talks of a race respec in the future? when the minotaurs are unleashed

As my merc is Briton and HO was released that made him pretty gimped and now another new race to make him even worse.

And since the recent BL nerf also makes me not want to play him

That would SUCK! TOTALLY SUCK! Never race respec! You play that race you started and will play it to the time of " DELETE " ^^

My avalonian cleric with a lil empathy, quickness and wasted int would very much agree with you...

As would my avalonian +10quickness wizard.

Personally, I read that quickness effected cast speeds from the manual so that's what I put part of my points into. The empathy, well I thought it'd help me barter :) And int was because I was originally a smite cleric and wanted to hit for more!

A race and starting point respec would make me actually want to play my cleric again but at the moment it's just pointless.

TBh I cant see mythic putting race respecs in the game, but starting stat respecs are something that could happen (hopefully)

Don't get the last point. Loads of 'us' have gimped starting-stats, the outcome in the end isnt thát big it becomes totally unplayable I would think ?

Well in the old days caster cast speed was calculated from Quickness. Then they changed it to Dex.And casters still have qui as a rising stat :(,should be con tbh.

my highlander armsman has: 5 Strength, 5 Constitution, 5 Dexterity, 3 Quickness, 3 Intelligence, 3 Piety, 3 Empathy, 3 Charisma(as start stat points), give me race/start stat point respec, kkthx :(
and minotaur has such nice stats :( 80str/80con/60qui -> makes a very balanced fighter

If I were to remake a cleric, I would firstly be briton (10 more con?) which would get me targetted a lot less then currently and I would have +18dex at creation which is 16 more then I currently have. Personally I hate it when I loose a fight not because of my abilities or any mistakes I make (those I can improve on at a later date) and not because of the enemies actions but because of something I did 4 years ago which at the time there was no decent documented information about the subject. It's the fights whereby a heal lands a tiny bit too late which wouldn't happen if I had a lil more dex that I absolutely detested.

Try make a template with only 84dex in it and see the flames for it on the template forum :D

It was originally going to be designed that way but quickness effecting cast speed wasn't ever implemented on the rpoper servers when they opened. I think it was on the beta and I was told that was what was needed, thus why I added points into it :(

Very few fights will hinge upon one single player out of eight doing the exact right thing within a time window the size of a millisecond. I personally think that individual skill and reactions count for a lot more, so much that other factors are negligible in comparison. Most of the perceived gimpiness of a character due to race and/or starting stat points are just that, "perceived", i.e. in the head.

Glad I deleted my first Cleric after the Cleric smite nerfs and remade it with +18 dex at creation <o/
Had something like +10 con/str or something on the first one :p

Who cares about the nerds in the template-forum? Everyone whines about the templates, hell my templates are considered 'gimped' yet I still do fine on 'em. If you think 16 DEX is gonna make a huge difference... its 0.09 seconds on a 3.0 sec (delve) spell, so thats the difference between 70 and 160 ping. There's a difference, yes, big difference? Nope, all in ur mind :)

Individual skill is of course a hell of a lot more important but it doesn't stop me from getting pissed off when We loose the fight because a key member died at a bad time purely because of a tiny time issue in my template. 16 dex and being avalonian thus being targetted first most of the time is a pain in the arse.

Should also be possible to choose your own rising stat tbh... New casters as bainshees, warlocks get con as rising stat while "old" casters still get quickness.. its quite retarded tbh :p

I do agree with you on this. Ive stood two druids together with a difference of 20 dex and cast speed differences have been totally lost in small latency fluctuations.

Having said that, i'm a Firby druid and ive a horrible memory of putting 10 into str at startup, so bring on that race and starting stat respec.

Funnily enough I sent a tongue-in-cheek right now asking for a race respec, but 'computer sais no'.

im enough of a roleplayer to say i want to stick with the races i picked for chars, but i would like a starting stats respec tbh. would prolly change the following:

10 dex 10 con 10 int to 15 int 10 dex on my casters
10 str 10 dex 10 qui to 15 str 10 con on ns

for me its marginal differences but for some the choice they made at the start really affects their chars a lot. especially if they change cast speed to be dex other then qui based they should really offer a stats respec :p

Well my problem is not that I didnt pick the correct starting stats but that when I made Briton Merc, HO was not available and obviously nor Minotaur.

The stats piss all over Briton :(
