RA: Mastery of the Arcane

Your "buff" spells will be 3% more effective per level of this ability.

With regards to Mystics in general, will this ability add 3% to self buffs? i.e to the Armour Factor buff and the Absorb Buff?

With regards to Darkness Specc'd Runemasters, would this ability increase the effectiveness of the last Damage Add Buff from 11dps? or is that capped?

With regards to Suppression Spec'd Bonedancers, would this ability increase the effectiveness of the castable Abs Buff from 9%, or is this capped?

With regards to BoneArmy spec'd Bonedancers, would this ability increase the effectiveness of the Pet Damage Add, and furthermore would it increase the effectiveness of this buff beyond 11dps?

With regards to Shamans, how far would you take this ability for a buffbot?

It adds to self buffs, but will not go beyond buff cap.
Pets on the other hand dont have buff caps and will thus get full benefits

naah, my drood with mota5 that cast a charged AFbuff end up on more AF than a drood with no mota at all.

It affects caster's self AF buffs also as well as potions / charged items. Just like healers with wild healing can crit with heal potion or proc :)

Dunno about Absorbion buffs since you don't see the result of buff anywhere except in damage when you're being hit (dunno if it's even visible in the -xxx dmg, they're probably just resists there).

nope... buffs are capped

damage add will improve with MoA - and the cap is probably well over 16.5dps (it should be enough to cover the short duration ones such as the reaver one) - at any rate you'll never reach it with your runey damage add.

RA's do go over the standard cap which is about 300 or so, although i think after that they suffer the diminishing returns theory?.

Think the caps are:
93 on specs and 62 on singles.

So lets say you have a shaman with 47aug and moa3.
Then all else is capped but str is only 61. :) Wonder where would I get that info... ;)

Works on resist buffs too - with MotA 3 I get 26% resist buffs instead of the usual 24%.

It affects timed buffs like caster shields.

I tested this myself.

I cast the shield buff and checked AF.

I bought the RA, cancelled shield buff, and compared.

There was an increase in armour factor from what the shield buff had given me before. Not much, but it was there.

I did a lot of stuff like this when RAs were first introduced into the game just to see what stuff did :)

Caster self buff is 250 value so 3% would be 7,5 more AF.
This must be rounded down since I get 7 more with the buff.
It's ok to have, costs one realm skill point and 7 more AF. I also use alot of dex/qui charges (no buffbots for me), it helps with that too as well as occasional AF charge I use.

MoA 3 is as far as you need it... after that the effects are minimal.

:edit: and no, I dont have any before someone asks :p

Mastery of the arcane also works on ablatives. I used to have mastery of the arcane 2 on Furball and this is a screeny showing it absorbing 106 dmg from a 100 point ablative:

Here is a list of what was effected when it was tested by someone in the US warden community (Flunkie).

--- Base / MOA1 / MOA2 / MOA3 / MOA4 / MOA5

Af ....... 73 / 77 / 80 / 81 / 84 / 86
Str ...... 62 / 62 / 62 / 62 / 62 / 62
Con .... 55 / 56 / 58 / 59 / 61 / 62
Dex .... 60 / 61 / 62 / 62 / 62 / 62
Body .. 24% / 24% / 25% / 26% / 26% / 26%
Spirit .. 24% / 24% / 25% / 26% / 26% / 26%
Energy 24% / 24% / 25% / 26% / 26% / 26%
Haste . 38% / 38% / 38% / 38% / 38% / 38%
End .... 30% / 30% / 30% / 30% / 30% / 30%
Regen . 11 / 11 / 11 / 11 / 11 / 11
