Im not a frequent poster, but i know many of you in game from various encounters.

Im only posting this because i wanted to vent the frustration that i feel with TOA, and that it has pushed me from Doac, a game i have really enjoyed over the last 2 years.

Im probably the worst combination of gaming types for TOA - a casual gamer with not much time to play, but a desire to accomplish things in the time i can play....

And the timesinks and forced grouping of TOA has made it impossible for me anymore... i realised tonight im logging on and playing cos im addicted, not cos i actually get any fun out of it.

I hope you will see me again in WoW or DE maybe .. who knows.

my advice is don't quit just take a short break. there are others in the same boat as you regarding ML's etc. if you decide to quit then i will be sorry to see another hibbie go and wish you all the best.

Toa is aimed at ppl who have no life i know that sounds harsh but its true there is no room for ML for the casual gamer unless you can drop 12 hours a day into doing the ML you aint gonna go no where with em

youve made the right decision daoc was fun for the last 2 years but its day is over leave the game with good memories not the ones where you where getting pissed off for waiting for an hour for a grp when you are only online for a few hours.

All i have done since toa came out was ml1, i got no artifacts what so ever, cause i don't have the many hours it requires every day. This leaves me with not many chances in rvr when all the toa-addicts come back with their artifacts and ml10 .. So to be honest i'm feeling left behind in daoc, and actually i problably only keep playing it because i feel i have to. ..nerf toa imo

You know, i had all the intentions in the world to see this through.. cancelled my accounts last night, cancelled a pre-order i had on the toa guide book....posted this message and another on DW guild boards.

Then im sat round this morning thinking .... god im bored ... meant to be working but its sooo dull..... what can i do ??

Ive got about a month left on my subs so i log in and level pettals artifacts for a bit.....

And i think ive figured..... the mind numbing tedium of leveling things i can cope with, i find it entertaining to try and figure quicker ways of doing it across my 3 accounts, but this ML stuff .. i just hate it.

Ive always avoided Galla raids, dragon raids etc, cos you stand around for ages and i invariably have to log before i get anywhere - pure frustration. But Galla and dragon loot was always nice to have - not necessary to compete.

Anyway, what im trying to say is ..... im going to see out my subs, and avoid ML stuff like the plague.... and continue to do the things i enjoy. If i find i can still weedle some enjoyment out of this game (read compete with only artifacts) at that point ill prolly re-subscribe.

I feel like a bit of a tit now, having done all this in 24 hours ... but, heh, whats new

You do realise you dont have to do everything in 1 day? MLs can be done in parts. If you dont find correct ml raid, form one. You do know our not alone, not all are playing 24/7. Its the mentality of i want it all and i want it now thats ruins the game for most.

laalaa i know what your saying but to do most parts of the ML you need huge battle groups for most ppl who can only play a few hours a day, them logging on havin to find/create a BG is alot of hassle and probably a waste of time. many sections of the ML require hours to complete some ppl just dont want to play that much. toa demands too much of ppls time thats the bottom line, its been created for the powergamers with little or no regard to the casual player yes theres lots of nice little sub quests and it looks pretty but lets face facts the reason the majority off ppl buy toa is to get artifacts and ML's ppl who can only play 3-4 hours a day get shafted because by the time they log on on a night, grps are already formed and underway toa was very poor thinking on mythics part they havent thought about it. all they've done is said "right if we make ppl more uber by giving them this expansion THEY'LL have to buy it to compete and we get a nice pay rise etc" toa is pure greed on mythics part and will i imagine kill the game for alot of casual gamers everyday i see ppl saying how crap toa is and how its ruining teh game for them im hoping for daocs sake the rvr expansion adds a bit more life into a dying game

good luck whateva u do m8y. ToA killed the game for me also. I found the ultimate way to get over DAOC .... get a new girlfriend, you will be soooo interested in spending time with them and getting to know them better DAOC just seems like a waste of time it's working for me just need to figure out something powerful enough to get me off the forums!

i think if toa wants to make you wanna quit becuase you cant compete u are playing for the wrong reason. but i do kind of empasize.

to be honest mythic may have been better introducing TOA and artifacts in one patch and master levels a bit later on.

tbh I can understand what he's feeling. Before ToA was there I could log in, get an RvR group and bash some enemy arses. Now I log in and have to do a thing I really hate....camp encounters, kill mob, level artifacts etc. and that's not what I'm playing for. But now the problem is, that I also play for all the friends I've met IG, which means that despite of all the crap that's going on with ToA, I'm much too addicted to draw a line and say goodbye cause I'd miss all the ppl in here and no, the old "cya in <insert method of communicating>" doesn't work very well :/ so I'm stuck to the old stuff, waiting for a new game I can move to
