Quitting this game?

Is it some sort of a new trend to write a "I'm leaving this game! Feel sorry for me bohooo" thread?

People I know that have played this game like it was their own life, a part that they loved more than their own family! Suddenly writes a "quit" thread, and talks so much down on this game.

What sense does that make? Seriously, I have tried leaving this game 3 times myself, but everytime I came back! And I know atleast half of the other guys that have said they are leaving, will come back! I can name one "DavidH"!

This game aint dead yet, and I find the last weeks of RvR to be quite fun! Even tho I'm a soloer(Yeah yeah, I know. I'm a OP sorc). So please stop bitching about quitting, atleast don't talk down on this game! Noone cares, you won't accomplish a sh**.

If you want to make a quit thread, atleast make a nice one, where you thank the guys you've been playing with! Give the game you've been playing for years some respect, it deservs it!

Dissing the game and listing the bad points makes it easier to leave tbh.

If you listed every good point and said 'i loved playing with u chosen, i want your babies' then you'll find it even harder to leave.

Hehe, from joke to serious! Well, if you find it harder to leave this game because you'll writ enice things about you're inngame friends in youre quit thread(That probably left for 2 years ago anyway)! You're having a serious issue imo!

There were a lot of quit threads after TOA aswell, but eventually things turned out alright (depending on how strict your definition of alright is, I suppose ). I'm just guessing that this'll be the same; people get sick of the lack of players and such during the summer, a number of them goes away, and some of those will return when things pick up again.

I can understand the bitter goodbye threads. Many people are leaving the game, not because they have found something better to do/play, but because they are unhappy with certain aspects of the game. It has probably taken quite some time for most quitters to reach the point where they finally got fed up.

Personally, I think Mythic has raised the standard for MMORPGs tremendously, but subsequently they have lowered the standard of their own game (daoc). This leaves a lot of people frustrated. I am deffinately one of the bitter gamers, because I see so much wasted potential in this game, but at the same time I can see how hypocritical it is to whine about what is still arguably the best mmorpg available.

I have often tried to influence the game with constructive critisism (on the VN boards), but so many issues have been left unaddressed for years. I truly wish the best for this game, but failing that, it is nice to see that Im not the only player who is unhappy with the game. I sympathize with quitters, and at the same time I hope Mythic will wake the f*ck up.

I made a non-bitter goodbye thread because I had to leave due to work etc. Its a nice way to say goodbye to everyone you respected/got on with ingame imo, nothing wrong with it. Bitter goodbye threads I dont like to see as much but its up to other people how they want to end(or try to end) thier DAoC 'life'.

I myself still like the game and have had atleast one afternoon when I had nothing else to do so I logged on and chewed teh fat with old guildmates. If I had the time I would come back properly, I've contemplated 'making time' to come back but I dont want to get myself into that trap so I do not think that I will be coming back (as much as I am tempted to atm). However I can see why somepeople would come back after making the big 'goodbye!' thread.

Even though I no longer play DAoC, I continue to read the DaoC boards for three reasons:

A. alot of the RVR threads are reason enough not to come back (whiners! )
B. alot of the offtopic threads and a couple of the RvR threads are funny
C. I get enough time at lunch in work to postfarm a bit

I do care about this game, and so do you! But I don't care about peoples negative opinions about this game! Even tho a guy says that this game suck monkey balls, it doesnt make me think the same!

So I'm just telling people to keep shut, if they don't have any possitive remarks about this game. If they are leaving, they don't have to drag the rest of the population with them! Say something about the good stuff you've been through instead!
