Quick Question - Dual Log

I've been given a PC which has the following specs:

AMD Athlon FX-53 2.4 GHz CPU
2 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce FX5950 Ultra

Now, I've tried to dual log on it and despite the /clientsleep being correctly set in both clients, the second client (usually my BB account) keeps going LD.

I have been told the video card is crap and I ought to buy a better one. Is this likely to fix the issue?

From my perspective, I would have thought the CPU and RAM are sufficent to run two accounts windowed at 1024x768 without any problem. Obviously I'd rather not go out and buy a new video card if that won't improve things.

I'll be grateful for any pointers.

Do you run in windowed mode or full screen ? I find windowed mode handles dual logging better.

try to invest in a dual core athlon, be it an amd x2 or an opteron (in my country i could in no way find an amd x2 on socket 939, but i did find an opteron 165 which oc'ed nicely from 1800 to 2400 mhz on stock voltage / cooler

I went from massive dual log problems to never losing stick when making the following change on my old AMD 3000;

- right click 'my computer'
- click 'properties'
- open 'advanced' tab
- click 'settings' button in the 'performance' group box
- open 'advanced' tab
- In the 'processor scheduling' group box, select the 'back ground services' option.

continue to run both clients in /clientsleep background mode as you have indicated you do already.

p.s even with that change it still pays to put your BB in 'combat' mode, targetting himself, otherwise you tend to ld every 30 minutes or so if you dont alt tab occasionally.

what you said indeed work and i used the same settings on my old a64/3000+ but inside laby dungeon things were close to 'unplayable' so i had to replace the cpu
