How do you select custom logo's as your spraypainted logo? Is there a limit to how big they can be? Do they all have to be in BMP format?

Yes u do, check this thread which covered the topic last week.

/me mumbels and cruses about lazy wankers, who cant even be bothered to search before they ask a question, and wonders if they even know what a search is.

U know what? fuck it search yourself, u see that search button above ^. Click it eneter your search word of custom logos and search the half life forums only. DIY

Spray logos need to be <15kb and need to be named pldecal.wad within the cstrike (or hl) directory

There are some software programs that keep a library of logos (ESSPRAY2) which you can easily select which logo you need BEFORE you start CS.

www.edit-strike.nl contains links to download ESSPRAY2.

If you use the mena path (i assume you are playing CS) and enter cusomise - you lose your selected logo

So the logos themselves can be BMP's, but have to be renamed pldecal.wad? I was under the inpression that .wad was a different graphical type or something.

YOu need a wad maker creator, as i said before if u just bother searching u will find the previous post on the subject quite easily.

If you really dont want custom logo's or want to wait ayear for this lot to answer then dont bother.
