Right.
  1. I've installed the latest ATi Catalyst drivers on Windows XP. It is now telling me I have two new bits of "Unknown" Hardware. I presume these are something to do with my video card (a Radeon 64Mb DDR ViVo). Does anyone know what drivers I need to install?
  2. Are Plextor drives good enough to warrant a 40 quid premium over a Lite-On (I want the black one :/)?
  3. Does my bum look big in this?
  4. Why are we here?

Bodhi, trust me on this one...........BUY PLEXTOR!!!

I had always had Plex and then I saw a cheap 40x Liteon, hmm I will have one of those and sell me Plex I thought........WORST IDEA EVA! Had the Liteon for 3 months just returned it this week as it is only writing at 12x, Plextors are the best drives out there!

I've had one LiteON CD-RW and two LiteON DVD drives...never had a coaster, never had a complaint.

OK, I put the ATI WDM drivers on before the Catalysts and no only have one bit of Unknown hardware cropping up, although this has just been joined by a Genport I/O failure. Any idea anyone?

I know that nVidia cards have the standard driver and then a WDM driver that is designed for the TVout so what other connections do you have on your Radeon?

It's the ViVO edition so it has Video In and 2 Video outs. It also has a Rage Theater chip which normally gets detected but is strangely absent.

This man (despite being Scottish) is right! I also have a Lite-On CD-RW and a Lite-On DVD and never had a coaster. Absolutely solid and incredibly cheap. It's not often I love a hardware manufacturer, but if Lite-On spiked my cocktail and rogered my bleeding anus, bent over the banister then I wouldn't let out so much as a whimper.
