If anybody has any questions about DAoC I will try my best to answer them. I have been playing the Euro Beta from closed. I have played all realms and various classes so will help if I can.

Ok, I played the USA DAoC for a few weeks before I got a bit fedup with all the time difference problems. I played on hibs as a bard so i guess i stepped on my own feet regarding grouping...

Anyways, the UK version i'll be playing a berserker on midgard, it'd be appreciated if anyone can throw any advice on playing this character my way :)

berserkers are pretty boring

What would you suggest aside from a berserker then? I'm open to options... How do the rez/healer classes fair on midgard?

Why not try a thane? Those spells look awesome!

I enjoyed playing a hunter. With Bow, Spear and Beastcraft you always have a means to kill a mob.

Mid gets Healer and Shaman. Healers are the main healers (gasp), rezzers and mezzers (crowd control) of the realm. They've taken a bit of a nerfing lately because their mez side was pretty overpowered, but are still a very good class. In PvE they're extremely strong and basically required for good groups, in RvR they're still good and needed because of the insta mezzes and stuns but the complaint people seem to have is that they're boring, steming mostly from the fact that they have no actual damaging spells.

To get realm points you need to do actual damage to an enemy before he/she dies unless you're grouped and in range of someone who does. People are complaining about this but realistically it's not that much of a problem unless you go around solo in RvR and try to leech points. Basically, if you're group/have people to group with you're ok.

Healers are sort of the backbone of Mid, without them we're in trouble.

Shamans are quite similar. The main difference is that they give up some healing ability (although not too much), the higher rezzes, crowd control, insta heals, power regen and get dots, diseases, AE dots, regen and bolts. So basically you give up standard healer functionality for some nice alternate damage spells.

The class is a bit lacking atm imo. They've added some new spell lines to it recently which is good but I still think it's behind healer in terms of viability.

Hope that helps ;)
