question SI and classic

going to format the old PCarooney and was curious are the 2 clients completely sepperate or does SI use some of the old files from classic?

so to put it simply can i just install SI client and play away ?
or do i need to have old installed the SI over the top?

i dont read about such trivial matters usually

They are completely independent. If you don't need the old client any more, you can safely uninstall it and that will not affect the Shrouded Isles client in any way.
