question re underpopulated realm

ok so goas formula was ill conceived and got it wrong, question is did they change it ?

Was just a typo angry old chap. Erivoss corrected stuff after it was pointed out, good thing one GM knows a bit about excal rvr and how ludicrous it would have been not to award it to us, for a while I thought they where gonna bury their heads in the sand saying 'working as intended'

If you don't know the formula all you can do is question the answer and have someone who does know it check.

True but requiel said it was a super secret formula for undepopulated realm bonus and we had to belive mythics formula, even when the underpopulated realm changed rom Hib to mid, and was apparently checked a few times to make sure it was right.

then Erivoss stated it was obvious it was wrong and would get it changed.

so the question is do they bother now to use the forumla, or has it been "fixed"

That's not quite what happened.
I said it was a super secret formula which I didn't know the specifics of myself. Originally (a week before live release) it was Hib to be the underpopulated realm. When the news went out, the German version reported that Mid would be the underpopulated realm. Someone spotted the difference between the English and German news and reported it.
By this time it was late in the evening and all the people who'd be in a position to check the formula itself had gone home so I checked with the guy responsible for the news to see which version was correct.
He said the German version was the latest one - which surprised me as much as it surprised the community however as this was the latest information I had, I passed it on here and said I'd check it on Monday when everyone was back at work.
Erivoss also said he'd look into it on the following Monday and later confirmed that the correct realm was Hib.

As far as I can tell it was an error in the news and not an error with the formula itself. Which makes all of the previous speculation entirely irrelevant.

As far as I know the formua was always right, just some naughty troll wrote 'midgard' when they should have wrote 'hibernia'. Im pretty sure any formula for underpopulated realm would be based almost purely (at least to a first order approximation) on realm population and as such couldnt really pick anything other than hibernia.
