Question from Prdywen/Hib

Are there any random rvsr grps on Hib/Excal? You know the sort of thing, that you turn up at ligen, maybe see some ppl there( THAT IS another question tho) and may go rvsr for an hour or 2 with some faces... or the same arranged (rvsr)guilds-grps roaming the path of Ligen-Emain as on Prydwen.

used to be mainly the random grps, now slowly its heading towards arranged guild grps, but most people dont mind grping with others if they dont have a guild grp, or taking an 'outsider' if they have space.

You were actually quite lucky then.

Most time's I'm in random grps one of the following cases will become reality:

(after arriving at Crim)
"Sorry peeps only joined to get to emain, meeting guild grp now kthxbye"

(on the way to emain)
"Gotta go afk for 10mins" (ofc he doesn't come back before the first encounter)
(then, after being wiped he's suddenly back)
"Doh what happened? Anyway sorry, I gtg now"
(mostly happens with bards btw)

or just one in the grp decides to play boss by telling ppl how to play their classes (like someone else lvled my char to 50 and I have taken over him when he was done), what to say and what not to say in grp chat... then after the first wipeout he leaves w/o a word

Well I've had several really damn good random grps tho, mostly with some ppl I knew from other guilds and some I didn't, but worked out gr8 and all stayed for several hours

Best bet is to go in a guild group, although most guild groups often have a free slot or 2

Filling a mainly-guild group is a good way to go, but dont be surprised if they ask you to leave so another guildie can join

As Gill said tho, random rvr groups tend to fall apart coz players go LD, AFK or simply dont fulfill their roll in the group (ie, tanks in a group with a dodgy healer will often leave because they are getting no support or poor healing).

If the group does well, they stay together longer, natch

i know there are more "random" hib grps on excal then on pryd for sure..
