Question for GOA - Bug abuse or not?

I would like it clarified whether the following PvE "methods" are bug abusing or not.

- Pulling mobs to the edge of their engage radius, focusing them there and having healers out of range.
- Pulling artifact mobs to haven and use haven guards to tank them.
- Pulling artifact mobs to haven but fight them off yourself and only use guards to take the adds.

Is all this allowed, or is any of it bug abuse and not allowed to do? And if so, what are the consequences?

None of these are concidered bug abuse. But that's also NOT the way the encounters are meant to be done. So don't come crying to us if you don't get credit or the artifact, or if the mobs suddenly despawn on you.

Yes someone tried playing the bug abuse card on me with danos...but requiel said its not abuse as other monsters and still attack you..i.e you are not immune to attack.

But Xalin! We cant come crying to you anyway  Whether the encounter was done correctly or not, its GOA's policy not to give credit/Artifacts out. Even if the encounter was bugged :O

Also note that if you use NPC guards to fight your battles for you, you are giving up control of the encounter which means that if other players want to join in, they are not stealing your encounter and are not in breach of the CoC even though they are attacking a mob which is already pulled.

and we can hardly be held responsibe for a game bug because we didnt try an encounter the 'proper way', theres no official guide for these encounters so all methods that dont otherwise break the CoC are fair game?

how about leaving a "aggro" pet at a spawn spot while still at your pc - is that a breach of CoC ?
sorry for thread hijacking

Doing it this way the cabbie(for example) still needs to be attackable or your pet wont engage the mob. So in theory the cabbie isn’t 100 safe. This is best demonstrated on AT and GS.

The other way is to focus from under the water with the mob on top. I’d be interested to know if this is counted as a legit method?

Pretty certain that if you are at your computer, it's fine. If you are away from the computer, it's illegal.

Previous advice is a little sketchy, since leaving your pet on agro neither requires key presses, nor a third party program. I think the usual phrase from the GMs is along the lines of "If your character needs to perform an action you need to be at your keyboard".

(Not saying I agree it's right, but always good to pre-empt the situation occuring :) )

Thank you too. However, if you say, focus the main mob while let the guards take the adds of the artifact encounter only, the main mob is still yours?

No. Encounter is main mob + adds ... do it the right way and you are protected by the CoC ... do it in another way (and come on common sense should be enough to tell you what is the way encounters should be done and what is taking the piss) and the CoC looks away.
