  • The burst after about 20 seconds is a split server relinking.
  • If you're wondering why there is a bright spot just off the coast of Africa, that is a major peering point and much of Africa's GeoIP data is unknown and defaults to that location.
  • There is a similar 'unknown location' fibre node in Russia.

It's actually the Somali pirates playing counter strike and organising matches to prepare for this kind of thing.
