Right,

PIII500, 128 megs ram, single voodoo 2 (I'm waiting for my TNT2 to be delivered..) and SB Live ect ect

latest drivers for each of them, got the quake 3 drivers for the voodoo card off the 3dfx site, also DirectX 6.1

When I run q3 test it loads up, I can hear all the sound but my screen is just grey?, and i cannot get out of it, no alt-tab or c-a-d.....

I have to play this game so I can say "played it and still prefer tribes

any ideas.........

I got a similar problem when I tried to install over 1.05; I didn't bother working out what the problem was, but it works fine installed to a fresh directory.

Yeah I had that grey screen problem ages ago. I can't remember exactly how I fixed it, but I think you have to get the mini gl download for voodoo2, and rename the 3dfxgl.dll file to opengl32.dll - give it a try

I had the same problem when I upgraded from a Voodoo Banshee to a TNT2 Ultra.

Quake II had a grey screen, guessed I had to change away from "3dfx opengl" somehow, so I just deleted the CONFIG.CFG and it worked.

Quake III didn't work at all, I tried doing the same solution but ended up deleting and reinstalling like Rup did.
