Quake 3 server

Hi,

I am trying to setup a Quake 3 server, and am failing misserably. I am using an NT server, in a leased line. I have followed the instructions at the following URL http://guides.barrysworld.com/quake3/servers/win32.shtm.

Everything seems to run fine on the server, but when I try to access it, by specifying the IP address and port, all I get is awaiting connection. The server is behind a firewall, and I have allowed access to port 27960.

Does anybody have any suggestions!

It can be setup to. Does quake use UDP packets on port 27960?

Certainly does !

Let UDP packets through on that port and see if that works.

It's working now thankyou. The only other thing I can't get working is the sv_privatePassword "password".

When I go in, it never denies me access even though I have not used the /password command.

Is there another variable that I have to set. I am using the command within the server.cfg.

set sv_privatePassword "password"

Not sure with this one m8 - are you accessing the server remotely or locally ?
