Is this happening while you are trying to connnect to an internet server or just playing standalone? If the former, please see thread "connection problems with Q3f" [in help forum], which refers to similar symptoms. I had a problem like this which was unexplained and mangaged to solve it without knowing how - its detailed in the thread referred to above.
If its the latter, ie you cant play the game at all, let us know what your vid card is, what drivers you are using, what mobo is etc Without this info it might be difficult to help.
