For those of you who didn't read QuakeNation this morning....
During the past few months whilst the league has been "on hold" we, BarrysWorld, have signed a deal with Future Publishing who own such popular pc leisure magazines as PC Gamer & PC Format. As part of this agreement we will be running 2 online gaming leagues for them, one of which is a Quake 3 Free For All League. We have decided that rather than have 2 similar leagues running on BarrysWorld, we will merge the 2 leagues into one competition, this, the Future Publishing Quake3 Free For All League.
The league itself will remain under the control of the team which has brought you the hugely successful BarrysWorld Quake 3 Leagues. Indeed, the difference for participants should be minimal. The main advantage of this move is that we are now able to offer some fantastic prizes, courtesy of Future Publishing. The winner of Division 1 will receive a DVD player worth up to the value of £300 along with £50 of HMV (or similar) vouchers to spend on DVD's, whilst the other divisional winners will receive a choice of either Razer Boomslang / similar priced mouse or £50 of HMV (or similar) vouchers. In addition to this, the various winners will have their names printed in future issues of PC Gamer. Fame at last

In order for us to ensure this league runs smoothly, we now require every participant to confirm their interest. If you submitted a sign-up form over the past 3 months you will have received a mail from me during the last couple of days or so, which you must reply to in order to confirm your interest. If you were a participant when Season 3 ended, or you simply wish to join this league, please fill in a sign up form then reply to the confirmation request you get. Please note, no players will be automatically re-entered for the league. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes but with a fair amount of time having passed since the last season ended we need to be sure that all participants are still active.
All participants should also add themselves to the BarrysWorld Quake3 Leagues mailing list. To do this, send a blank email with subject "subscribe" to bwq3l-request@minos.co.uk. You will then receive a confirmation mail, which you have to reply to again. If you have any problems you can email simon@minos.co.uk as he is the list maintainer.
Closing date for sign ups is Sunday the 8th of October. In the mean time, further details about the leagues will be announced on Thursday the 5th of October, with final details (divisions, competing players, schedules) going up by 9pm on Tuesday the 11th. The League itself will start on Thursday the 19th of October, running every Thursday for the next 6 weeks after that.
