no. the registered version allegedly uses an enhanced compresssion algorithm, altho the more cynical have suggested that the unregistered version has simply been made worse in order to 'encourage' registrations.
way i see it, ppl will shell out an extra £20 (~£13) for a better modem, so y not pay for something which does exactly the same thing, enhance your connection.... however i wouldnt like to speculate as to what improvement (if any) an individual user would experience by registering. the registered version features a few other extra features of less significance... check http://qizmo.sci.fi under the news section for more info
