q3UT And Smoothwall

Recently installed smoothwall and can get HL and all its mods, Tribes 1/2 etc to work, but when trying to connect to a q3ut server it just counts up on awaiting gamestate. uke:
Anyone had similar problems?

Hi,

As i understand it the smoothwall is a bastardised version of linux, it may therefor be possible to find out what traffic is being rejected by the firewall by doing 'tcpdump -i <eth1/ppp0/ippp0/etc..>' to find out what is being sent to the firewall but not being let through, this of course greatly depends on your firewall default rules, i.e is it deny all incoming un-initiated packets but allow return packets etc.

As a wild guess maybe its the auth server connection not being allowed in maybe?

I remember Wils mentioning the AUTH server ports possibly being blocked by the firewall as teh problem happens with every server i attempt to join. I dont spose yah know the port that the auth server uses so i could try and unban it?
When i get home from work will have a look at that log report thingy
