Hello all,

Q3 won't remember my last settings, eg. video resolution, names, etc.. I am also running some mods osp tourney and requiem. If anyone knows what to do, I'd appreciate it.

is your q3config.cfg read only?

Each mod remembers it's own settings.

If you change something while playing OSP then baseq3 and any other mod like requiem won't be updated and when you play those they will use the "old" setting - change them while playing those and it will remember them there too.

What I tend to do is fiddle with settings while playing (for example) OSP, then copy the q3config.cfg file from the OSP dir into baseq3, ra3, etc... (provided those settings are suitable for all the games).

As an aside, if you fiddle with the baseq3 q3config.cfg directly then you can actually delete the q3config.cfg in the mod dirs and q3 will copy the baseq3 one into the mod directory when you run play that mod...

Under Linux you could try going into ~/.q3a/ and typing:

ln -s baseq3 osp

I don't know if Win32's shortcut system is capable of the same thing, but it might.

#include <stdDisclaimer.h>

Thanks for the replies, QorbeQ's solution worked fine.

If you're using Gamespy, make sure that the option "have gamespy set name, model and rate" is _not_ checked in the options .. grr .. was really bugging me, that.

(yeah, I know you've sorted your problem, but thought you might like to know that too) :)

Does anyone know the admin/server commands for osp?
-I'm looking to allow only people that have a password.
-What's the command to kick players?
-What does "Promode server" do/mean?

I've read all the text, but can't get all of it to work.

P.S. I play on the server at the same time.(so is that dedicated or listen? :))

Thanks,
adchan

That's a good topic, how do you make those colorful names?

^1 | Red
^2 | Green
^3 | Yellow
^4 | Blue
^5 | Cyan
^6 | Magenta
^7 | White
u just put the codes before the letters is your name that u want diff colors to be
so my name would be
^7Z^4a^7Z^4e^7L
witch makes the 2nd and 4th letters blue,
easy
