Hello,
Ever since the beginning of last week I have been unable to play q3 because of this damn auth check. I mailed Devine about it and he said it would be fixed in the full demo. However it hasn't so I was wondering if anyone has the same problem or maybe has a fix for it.
I am behind a throttle and so can only get 1k a sec to the internet. So in order to play games I use ip forwarding on a machine I can connect to directly, to forward my packets to the servers. This worked fine before btw.
However now I just get "waiting for cd key auth"
I am not behind any firewalls and so can connect directly to the auth server and so am baffled by this request. If I try to connect directly to the server I can connect (albiet with 2000 ping).
The only idea I have on the problem is that the machine that I do the ip forwarding on does have a firewall on it and cant reach the auth server. (but not to the ip's I use of course
But I dont see why this would be a problem as its simply a forwarder. It cant touch the packets at all and so shouldnt even be in the equation.
The chances also are that I cant get the auth server into the allow ip list.
Any help much appreciated.
