Q for DAoC'a'holics

Wanna get an honest opinion on why you play the game:

Options below:

1. You love the RvR aspect of DAoC and play the game as your first choice

2. You love the RPG aspect of it and play the game as your first choice

3. You are simply killing time until WoW/SWG/DE/XXX is released and dont particularly enjoy the game

4. Other

My pick is #3 atm, just wanted to know what why you guys pay

Killing time until WoW is released, although possibly off to play planetside more (until WoW goes gold :p) if that turns out to be something I like to play :)

Well I guess to start with it was a bit of 1 and 2. Then moved on to a kinda "I play for the community I'm part of in the game".. which is what it still is mostly. I'm not specificall waiting for a new game.. but I'm keeping an open mind, and don't see myself playing DAoC forever, which I perhaps once did.

I play because I love the people I play with. Not literally. And it's a decent game, with plenty of decent, errr, stuff in it.

I play for the community, which is much closer than any game I've played before. But also because it's a good game. Else you may as well sit in a chatroom.

So, erm, I'm not sure what my point is.....I play it because I like it!



Although I'm not 'waiting' for a new game to come out, I know at some point I will move on, and keep my eye on upcoming releases.

Is wish everything could go back to as it was about 6 months ago. Before sc etc. when then realm acted as a realm and not ran around in maxed out guild groups. Now there are to many i wanna be so uber that they dont care what they do.

I started with #3 but now I'm playing for the same reason as Vell really.

1 i guess. I STILL enjoy the game. My targets atm are to lead a successful relic raid at primetime, to get 3 lvl 50's and rr7 with my cleric. Relic raid thing could take a while, my mincer is 35 and my cleric is 550k away. Once those are done though, it will I guess just be the community which is keeping me in game, LoD are fantastic bunch of peeps I tbh wouldn't wanna leave.

playing with mates, and the odd pure-enjoyment sessions when you+mate+mate take out fg's ;)

I'd go for #1 but I haven't logged on for 1 and a half week... So #4 Other (Killing time in general).

Been in and out of this game for a long time, nowadays my guild is the only thing that keeps me in game. We aren't in an alliance, don't do much with other guilds, so just my guys :)

Playing for the occaisional fun-spikes but not enjoying it 100%.
I.e. I enjoy attacking 4 cosantoirs and killing 2, but dying to the second one cos i get 2x stun resist and 2x mezz resist makes me want to break the screen ;>
Too many flaws in DAoC to enjoy it 100%.

I just play sometimes, find everything fun... fun stuff really :eek:
When I do play I love it... no matter what I do. I love socialise with guildies and friends in-game.
Problem why I don't do it for a particular reason is that my real-life takes up too much time on a VERY unpredictable timetable.

after playing since beta, I'm finally sick of the game. probably cancelling subscription soon.

SWG is a maybe; WoW is an almost definite.

1 , 2 , 3 and a 4...depends on what mode im in :)

Sometimes it to rvr , sometimes to hang out and chat..sometimes to try a new char.. and some time its just to kill time...

Was 4.... and that was because if the people

Now tho, i play PlanetSide, simply because its better :)

WoW looked like cartoon crap ihmo :rolleyes:
Never liked the "kiddyness" of the Warcraft series.
