PVP @ THEED (Chimera)

Was any1 else involved in the Big fight at Theed last night around 11pm?
I managed to take out 1 rebel and 1 pet. Until the shouts of there an IMP COMING FROM BEHIND (and my m8's decided to leg it) .I then got jumped by about 4 rebels did quite well until I ran out of mind for my heals. I think the pvp in this game is great I was overt so I knew the risks and didn’t complain when I died.

The fact you can PVP any were in the game is also good you do not need to go to a pvp area miles form anywhere only to find it is empty or camped by high level spawn killers.

Does any1 else have any views of SWG PVP all view welcome.

bah... typical... just when I up stakes and move to Tatooine, something interesting happens in Theed!!! I love the PVP system of the game personally Just wish the battlefields were easier to find, and not as buggy

I was just wondering is it griefing by killing imps who get a TEF while doing missions? its just that while ive been doing missions (overt) i always find imps doing theres too and so i go kill them for the hell of it
anyway i was just wondering, i mean after all i am stopping them from destroying our rebel outposts and such its not like if it was rl i would just sit there and watch them killing fellow rebels.
Ive also come across the overt imps afk in their camps but i know not to kill them as it is griefing

Also i have a question...
Ive also got a minefield which i am trying to currently stock up, anyone know what sort of ppl it kills? does it kill anyone who steps in it? or just imperials generally? or is it just declared imps?

If they have a TEF it's not griefing. It's only griefing if there's any harassment involved - i.e. spawn camping, etc. The whole point of the TEF is that it flags when a player has chosen (through their actions) to enter consensual PvP. They can always choose not to do the missions that give them the TEF.

anyway i think the PvP of SWG is great apart from the fact that people can kill you when you LD or are just loading in, it would be much better if they gave you a safety flag for a bit like DAoC so that you wouldnt be able to get killed until you are completely loaded in to the game and so can fight back. Being AFK while overt is very risky i guess but i would still count killing one when they are afk as griefing.

anyone found afk camping while overt should deserve to die for being an idiot

also, they are adding a 30-60 second invunerability period for overt's when using shuttles and when loading or (LD)

i personally dont pvp much as a wookiee is dead before you press /attack :/

I didn't think it was actual invulnerabilty - people are just set to covert for the 30-60 seconds to give them time to adjust to their surroundings.

If your declared Overt then you are open to attack in any situation... Those that dont like it can stay covert...
stickin AFK above your head, alone, in a camp...

I like the fact you can solo or group for PvP no matter what class you are, i dislike the fact that PvP dosnt provide a challenge for me.

If i find a guy with a TEF i pm them saying they have a TEF and i will give them a fair fight, if they try to run or start hurling insults then i kill them and DB, if they agree to a fair fight i wont attack till they say they are ready, and if it was a good fight sometimes i /salute them and carry on my way without DB'ing.

FPs arnt really important like RPs in DAoC, and the respect gained from giving a TEF'ed person a chance is far more satisfying for me even if they still lose anyway
