Pvp roleplay

I know an awfull lot of people are having doubts about how pvp will be but after hearing some idea's i think roleplay could seriously be fun :)

I think alot of people are just gonna level chars to be 'the best' at dueling and such but i think theres alot more to it then that, as a group roleplay could be alot more fun, walking around terrorising and such. I myself, im going to start a berserker (by far not a good pvp char from what i hear), a dark norse whome keeps to himself unless hes side stepped :)

Really am looking forward to it now, i used to think roleplaying was a bit silly but i think it could put more fun back into the game for me anyway...

If a guild was walking around terrorising , do you think your guild could stand up to them and be the 'good guys' while keeping in tune with your characters nature? :)

Sounds like a challenge to me, and alot of fun, probably sound silly to others but whats your views? :)

glad you open your mind and i guess you now realize people can roleplay the opposite sex without being trannies? :eek:

Powerlevel to ... ehm ... a high level and then roleplay.

Nice people don't survive on PvP

Go Powerlevel a Fighter/mage or an assasin and I'll be your all time favorite Chaotic Evil killer who dont care if people are Grey or yellow con as long as it dies. Hell I'll even set up myself up to do killing jobs for people who been stepped on by others. So sure roleplaying sound like a good ideer.

I do think a Roleplay guild would be excelent, and there are quite a bit of roleplayers in DAoC. The only thing that can ruin that is the 1337'ers. As there are mutch more 1337 people than there are RPG'ers. I will be going the "kill everything above green(not including green)" way, as I find that mutch more fun. I guess I'll be going either: Firbolg - Hero, Sarachen - Infiltraitor and/or Merc/Blademaster. I havent decided yet.

I really look forward to the PvP server, and I hope people get past the "LooooooooL that graycon sucked!!!111 N00bz0rz!!!!1111" Period.... Well, best of luck to everyone really.

I am looking forward to it, i have never really roleplayed, so i would like to make a character that is either a very nice player etc. or a very nasty man indeed, if i chose the latter, it best be a good solo class ;)

I also won't kill greys/greens, and i doubt i will kill anyone unless they provoke me. But im sure that feeling will pass as people start to randomly kill me ;)

I am not sure what class to chose yet, or what race, anyone have any thoughts.

I promise you I havent read anything of this thread but when I saw the title I thought I would write my response from that and see how close I am.

There will be lots of people using the rpg view for going around and greiefing. Funny how lots of people want to rp a bully!

I think role play on a PvP server could be quite a lot of fun... you could roleplay a real evil nasty bastard who would kill group mates whilst afk

Personally I wont be joining the "fun" on the PvP server, I like the current set-up and really dont see the need for it. But... whatever floats your boats.

The bully is to easy to play realy ... LOOK A GREY KILL .... LOOK ANOTHER ONE AND ANOTHER ONE ... wonder where they are all comming from .... hmmm im stating to thing that I might be in a starting town.

But I do like the Ideer of selling your sword to go hunt someone down (good or evil minded)

i might start a holy guild called the order of the radient heart :) protecting the people and keeping order in the land.

or

make a shadow theives guild with mercenarys,wizards,cabalist etc and claim half of camelot and cotsworld etc and charge fees to cross the bridges :)

Ok, so Roleplaying might be fun simply because you can talk with everyone.

"You stupid green con Middie! You think I can't see through your pathetic stealth? Join me, and I shall teach you the true meaning of Power!"

The amount of times that will be said :)

I can see problems arising, such as:

Camping Bindstones. Wait near a bindstone, kill everyone who releases, as they release again, kill them again.

Rezzing and killing. A 2 person group goes around, slightly seperate from each other. Preferably a stealther and a healer. Stealther kills someone, healer ambles along, hits stealther (would help if stealther was quite a bit lower than healer) stealther runs off and stealths... healer rezzes, stealther kills the guy again... repeat depending on how stupid the person is...

The Cruel Bastard. Ask very kindly for a rez, healer rezzes you, sits to rest for mana, you kill healer.

Blackmail. A high level threatens to hunt down and kill a lower guy continuously if he doesn't give him all his gold/items.

Training. A big guild powerlevels fast and sends people to each trainer in the realm, in shifts - no-one can train, guild rules supreme in that realm... people give up and start in a different realm, guild takes whole realm.

And more... so many more...

Yet this could make it very interesting.

once you release you have a 2min timer where you cannot be hit/hit anyone else and the only spells you can cast are buffs.

so its a chance to make a getaway.
the real thing i hated about when i played us pvp was people camping outside of the jordheim exits near mularn/vasud.
cause your chars body actually appears whilst your still loading and they kill you when you cant do nowt against them. :(

if its like normal rvr then there is an X-time before you'll get anything out of killling a guy once more.

And with the 2 min safe time after respawning, did you read that in patch 1.53x you'll have 30sec safetime after zoning so that people wont have the big a window to make spawning killings in.
