Left /1 the second day i played since it made following a conversation in /gu and /p impossible if i looked away for more than 5 sec.

during the us beta the only thing i ever asked on general chat was how to leave general chat...

/leave 1 was the first thing i did when EU beta started and is the first thing i always do when creating a char now

You can leave all the channels you like but it doesn't save you from the dreaded /y spam.

I find that the /1 channels has become better the last week, but dunno about newbie areas since i dont play there until around 3-4 in the morning, all mobs and stuff almost to myself.

And perhaps the channel is better cause you guys left it

I use it, only in certain zones its annoying(Barrens), and i got a seperate chat windown for /g /w etc. so i dont miss anything.

Btw anyone know how to turn off they text fade awaying after a short time?

Tbh i dont see what the big problem is, I dont really pay much attention to /1 but i dont see many conversations or newbie questions.

the only place i see it getting tedious is in barrens, usually it's fine. And i have never turned it off yet.

What is bugging me is the people who spam defense channel and lfg channel.
I don't really wanna shut these, but you get idiots spamming "Omg a lvl 32 Paladin outside Ogrimarr" "He's fighting a guard!" "He's looking at me!" "He's waving!!" This moron continued to track every movement and send us the blow by blow report. I understand that Paladins are exciting, but do we really need to know he is waving? Really?

"You guys better get your butts down here"

I was really torn at this moment. Part of me wanted to ask "Or what?" or just to say STFU, but the other part of me doesn't want to engage these people in conversation.

What is there to defend? Nothing is going to get taken over or burned down or anything. I am afraid that I have had to leave the defense channel and the LFG channel.

The very first day I found some usefull info on /1, like how to unstack and where the Inn was. People kept asking it sooo many times, I just couldn't miss it Now I still keep it on, if only for the funny stories.

Xroads = Horde zone. Alliance characters cannot engage in combat with you unless you attack em 1st (yellow colored name)

That paly i was referring was exploiting noobs who atacked him 1st.
