Border Kingdoms are NOT 48vs48 instanced. They are instanced, but they're free roam and you can change instance freely, there is a "soft" limitation on number of players in a border kingdoms instance, in that once that limit has been reached, a new instance is made, but you can always switch to the most popular instance and there can be as many people as you want in it.

Battle Keeps are instanced battles, limited to 48 (Defending) vs. 48 (Attacking).

There are also numerous smaller keeps and Points of Interest that are controllable in the border kingdoms (these are handy for mounting staging areas for impending sieges on battle keeps). These smaller keeps are also instanced and limited in number, not sure what to though.

Hope this helps.

The big problem for me will be the constant zoning and instancing of each zone ;/

DAOC/WOW both had open worlds and you only zoned when you entered a city or dungeon and there were no instances on zones etc.

EQ2 had this exact same system and it drove alot of players away simply because you start to get really into it and a load screen pops up.

Also i see a lot of people moaning about how you start the game like it is a single player RPG and not an MMO.

Time will tell i guess it won't take long on here for some people who don't like it to post about it.

Have you seen the level of detail in some of the zones? Huge and not just a flat plain like daoc/WoW, you can climb a mountain and see the streams feed the rivers. they take like 5-10 seconds to load so who gives a shit. As for the single player start, yes it is, if you choose to do the single player instance, or you can do the multiplayer quests. not hard to pick one of the two (or switch between them as much as you like) the night time solo stuff is one fairly small quest line. which probably takes 2 hours tops.

If you aint into the solo player questline, you can just not do it and skip it at around level 17ish. However you lose out on a very nice storyline if you skip your destiny.

P.S.: Kiss my butt old.Tohtori...
