Pushlatency

I been told to set my pushlatency as I'm always complaining about my shots missing the targets in TFC, even when I was spot on with the crosshair the shot will miss. What I've found is I have to shoot just infront of the target I'm aiming for to hit them .

Although I don't know how to change this setting, I type pushlatency in console to see what its set at and get nothing, has this command changed or something ?

Also say I'm getting an average ping of 25 what should this be set to ?

I can partially help you thanks to reading a previous topic on this subject at this forum. If I remember corectly the command that has replaced Push Latency is CL_latency, as to the setting, for which inverted commas "" are necessary, I can't remember exactly (2 much smoking mebe) but mine is set to "-50.987" for my 56K modem, I'm sure Ch3tan or some1 else can enlighten you further.

Thanks for the help m8, its the command I really needed I think I can remember the settings being half your average ping and it should be a -number

So if my pings say 30 the number should be -15, any one know if this is correct ?

Yeah I can

Pushlatency was sneakily removed from the game in cs1.1, A few weeks ago I found the replacement command, but have not used it myself as I am used to not having it now

Now go to http://guides.barrysworld.com/cs/tweaking/ (there are 2 pages) and use teh cl_latency command exactly as you would have used teh cl_pushlatency command.

Bit wierd this, I actually read ch3tans origional thread last night and tried it this morning, I set the figure to 1/3rd of my usual ping and it seems to have worked OK, at least I got more frags than usual...........so that would be 1 then.

YEah going to add it back to my config now.

Just read up on its uses, remember that when u use this command in your config to use it as cl_latency "-x". It is very important to include the minus sign or u will be adding latency, not taking it away. I would use 50% or 1/3rd of your average ping.

If you are adding it in game via the console u dont need to put the figure in quotes, but still use minus numbers or u will again be adding latency.

I am going to set my latency to "-999" I will tell u how i get on. Read SAS's guide to see why i am asetting it to this

Oh yeah remember to add all the changes u make to your cs config.cfg to the config.cfg in your hl/valve directory. If you dont do this for all connection and gfx settings u may find they override each other.

Well the reason for this thread was to find out what those commands in your url were replaced with
