purple armor?

now using banded coral chain on my lvl 25 minstrel.. deep purple

(lvl 40+chain)

been hit serveral times.. duration 100% con 100%

and the magic extras DO work....


so you can play with it without ruining that piece ?

i know you could use a purple shield without loosing any dur as long you are not using shield styles...

You can wear it... it's effective armour factor is capped to twice your level...
and it'll wear faster than a red orange or yellow set of armour...

but it'll still work fine

i was wearing Bnaded coral torso on my 22 cleric and same as yourself i got all stats etc etc . and im considering wearing them all the time due to the low amount of times a cleric gets hit.

But on my scout it seems different . i have a jewel of dark beauty and a maccabre medallion . but i DONT get all the stats that are on the items. afaik those items are similer lvl item so i dont know why i get the stats from the coral but not from jewelry .

well this is easy ...

U can wear EVERY wep and armor and get all stats

but jewelry, bracers , pendants & co will only work if u have the min lvl to wear em (orange or red i think )

I have a level 22 Nightshade that is using a level 48 jewel that works good. Might just be me though

i think all items work good..tho prpl items can get worse in short time.

If u have lot of item with same +skill (like stealth) u will easily been capped with bonuses u get. at 50 max bonus is +11 with items. and lower u are - then lower is your cap. Cant remeber thos what was cap on each lvl tho..

This is all nice and well for people who don't get hit much, for the stat bonuses are quite useful. BUT, a fighter type will not be satisfied with purple armor. The AF is capped at the maximum for your level. Then quality kicks in (89 and below, which simply sucks) and reduces the AF if it qual is not 100%. Then duration kicks in, which will degrade fast, thereby reducing efectiveness even more. Not in one or two fights of course, but it goes down way faster than with orange/yellow things.
So if you are a fighter type and would actually like to wear effective armor, buy crafted stuff and enchant it, or use 100% qual drops. That's the way to go.

It depends for the items. I have all purple cloth and the only thing which didn't work at lvl 22 when I last tried was the sleeves. Exactly the same stats as the pants just sleeves. Same 47 af as well. I'll have to try them when I've stopped crafting for abit with my bard.

But my lvl 45 belt works fine, and has done since about lvl 20 I think :shrugs: . How am I supposed to know all this stuff.

Just wanted to say purple bracers, belts, etc etc do work sometimes. Depends. Gets capped alot though
