Went into Game to see if they had PS in - no joy. Went into Game a week later (and a different one) and PS? No.

How is said title supposed to flourish without being able to get hold of it..... or is it doing an extended, paid-for beta like Eve is at the moment?

I blame Ubisoft tbh.

Friend was tryin to buy EQ Planes of Power and every single online shop was sold out for over 2 months. Think it's Ubi that take care of the distribution anyway.

Don't think there was any exclusive thing for Planetside.

I trekked round Swindon looking for a copy, found the last one on the shelf in PC World. Bearing in mind the shelves were full of everything else, PS is either highly popular or very poorly distributed.

It's been horribly ditributed in the UK. I went to pick up a copy from GAME in guildford on launch day. I hit the shop only to find that there's a guy in there walking away with the last copy. I get the staff there to ring the other Guildford store and they hadn't any copies either. I picked up a copy (one of two) from teh Aldershot branch the next day.

I work in Woking, which also has 2 GAME stores. They have received about 3-4 copies per week between them since launch.

I'm not sure if this is GAME's fault or Sony's (I've noticed it with other games - there was no sign of Freelancer for weeks after release).

While I appreciate that you'll get a better deal if you buy on-line it's very important for multiplayer online games to have a good retail release to pick up casual gamers and ensure the success and longevity of the game.
