Public Malmohus run on Wednesday

As an experiment I'll organize a public Malmohus run on :

Wednesday first of May (Tomorrow) @ 18:00 CET (17:00 GMT)

levels 40+

All that want to come must agree on the following rules(the exact same rules that apply to the guild runs we do in our guild):

1. No impatience.
2. No whining about deaths.
3. No loot whining, all loot will be given to me immediately after its dropped. I will then pass it out to the highest level there who needs or randomly decide if there are several needing of the same level.
4. No Whining about xp. It is impossible to balance xp perfectly with alot of people so dont complain if you are the unlucky person not getting cap xp with every kill. If xp is really really crap, send to me in a civil manner and I'll try to fix it.
5. You have to be prepared to stay no less than 3 hours.
6. No spamming, be nice and positive.
7. Pay attention to what the organizer is saying and do what he says without any unnessecary interrogation.
8. You have to be level 40 or higher to participate

We leave from Here as soon as groups are done. We move to lair and stay there until 20:45 CET, then we go back to the entrance and pick up newcomers that should be there no later than 21:00 CET. We then stay at lair until 0:00 CET and after that the run is concluded.

I have my doubts about whether this will work, but if it should, I'll do it every week, and if other people are willing to help we might do this every day, who knows. If we could keep this thing going a couple of days a week we can strengthen Midgard substancially. In any case I think it's worth a try.

Well, I like the idea of a "Midgard" hunt. But the "hand it all over now" basically means that if there is a group of L48-50 people, the rest of us will see squat.

Nice idea though. I may pitch as all my primary equipment is yellow/orange, so I don't really have a problem with it. But I'm just stating the way some people will feel used in the sense that they'd just be helping "you" loot farm...

Still, sounds tempting.

Yes lower level players help the higher ones to farm the loot.
You get exp, they get stuff.

As lower level players hardly can use the loot that drops there there is no reason to give the drop to someone who cant use it in several levels when there is somebody whos old item is starting to get crappy. Also note that the lower players hardly can land a hit or even take one from the mobs there so might makes right.

Just accept the fact that lower players wont get loot and remember that when you get the levels its your time to collect all the stuff. :D

Really? Well, I can use any item up till L46 (orange range).

when there is somebody whos old item is starting to get crappy.
Ok, so are the people getting these high level items going to pass their stuff on to people ON THE HUNT? Or will you be planning to hold onto it for someone else who's not there?

You sure of this? Can't land a hit? Hmm. At L41 I sure as hell can hit Broken Jotuns, etc. Careful how you "rate" other's abilities.

Just accept the fact that lower players wont get loot and remember that when you get the levels its your time to collect all the stuff. :D
And that justifies "using" others? I thought it was high level people were supposed to help lower level people...not the other way around.

And L40, does NOT classify as "low level" to me...

Didnt mean to sound so hostile. :(

I am in no way a high level player my self. When I am talking about Malmo I define low level player ~40, mid ~45 and high ~50.

If you take two full groups of lvl 40 players they will do no good in Malmo (at lair atleast) because they dont survive long enought to be effective (exp will go backwards).

About the items:
I dont know how it will be done as im not the one getting the groups together or deciding about things. Im going there to leech exp.
(items wont be saved for people outside of the group that much I do know)

About landing and taking hits:
Well yes you can hit them and do damage too but what I meant was that compared to the lvl 49 warrior next to you the damage output is minimal. You will die in a hit or two but as you wont get aggro much it really doesnt matter.
(This does NOT mean that the low.. umm 40-45 players are not usefull)

About me rating other peoples abilities:
I am sorry, again I didnt mean to sound hostile. As a level 44 skald with 2h weapon, 2dd's and damage chant I dont do much damage and miss more than I would like to, I can IMHO say that people with less levels than me will do even worse in the battle.

And finally about high players "using" lower ones:
I think that the possibility of getting cap exp with chain pull rate is in fact help coming from higher players and not abuse.

I applaud your initiative, Grizlas. I'm sure it will be appreciated by others, regardless of whether it's a success or not.

As for people complaining about drops in high level areas -- It's been my experience that NBG (Need Before Greed) is the best rule to go by.

Great helm drops (Gee, those are so rare in Malmo), and goes to the highest ranking that NEEDS it, who passes his/her helm on to the next highest, and so on down the line. If another helm drops, it goes to the second-highest, who passes his/her stuff down the line, etc.

This might not seem cool if you're the lowest ranking in the group, but it is the best for the group itself. You won't be 40 forever, and you'll get stuff passed down to you as you go along.

This works best for groups that are new to each other, and have to get used to one another. Small groups of people who work together are usually above needing any form of ruling.

In some cases you get so many of one particular 'rare' item it gets silly. Golden Alloy Spear, anyone? I've seen so many drop that the hunters I teamed with have enough to use them as toothpicks. ;P

Was there until my PC suddenly crashed and I found myself back in Galpen again... :(

There was a major lagfest when all the groups camped the lair, I think I even saw smoke coming out of my comp. Got some nice bubs, never saw a single loot though, but I can bet a couple high level groups loaded up their bags with goodies.

Next time we should have a go at the dragon too... :)
