The PS3 is to get a worldwide launch in November of this year. They are aiming for a production capability of 1 million units a month, so with any luck there won't be the shortages we saw from the 360 launch.

The 50 GB Blue Ray discs will also be the standard but as yet there is no price for the system or games.

And, in other news, the PS3 will come with a 60GB Hard Drive and free online gaming as default.

For the techies amoung you, you will be pleased to hear that "it will also be capable of running a version of the Linux operating system"

Surely no one in the entire world was surprised by this delay?

Not surprised, impressed. A simultaneous worldwide release? Get-in! The Europeans don't get screwed for once. Plus older games get a nice make-over in that they'll be played in higher resolutions. HD FFVII makes me a little happier tbh. :)
