PS2 to be £150?

just giving digitiser a quick read ch4, and they have a article regarding the Xbox's not so great performance with regards to sales. Page 2 says and i quote

Though microsoft's xbox launched at the same £299 price as the PS2, analysts are now predicting that the firm will cut the cost of the console to compete with the now - £149 Sony system

checked some shop sites, no news of that price cut from sony yet....

Most probably late may, although it'll drop to £170 I reckon.

my sis works in game... word in the industry is £150, not £170...

this btw is the same price drops as the ps1 underwent.. some time next year you'll prolly be looking at £120-£100

I would seriously consider it as well, apparently the X-Box is being dropped in price as well, so are the Pioneer dvd-r writers(older model a103 i think)they should be around £200 next week or so

@ £120 i'd buy ANOTHER PS2... i dunno why people keep bitching about the dvd playback quality on it... unless u have a thousand+ quid telly, your not going to notice much.... for my grundig 21" in my bedroom it's fine... it's not like i'd settle for it on my main living room telly...


oooh, where'd u hear about the pioneer dvd writer? i've been watching that come down gradually from £700 for the last few months. it's hit £300 in most places now... thing is, what's going to replace it? something faster i assume? and how much will that be? because DVD+RW's jump on DVD-R/RW is that it's a LOT faster... about twice as fast i believe?

any word on an xbox price drop? and when? as the only way my sister can get one of them cheap, will be to risk getting sacked

The Pioneer should drop in price sometime next week, their new model is already out and its only £300 hence them having to drop the price of the a-103 look here for any changes www.bigpockets.co.uk
