I'd suggest that they'd probably mirror Nintendo, but £99 would suit me, might force M$ to drop another hundred off the X-Box, then I would be able to buy one, just to be able to throw it away & not care

there are rumours stating £99 is a possibility. I don't think Sony have to tho. They've won this console war already - so they could probably keep it at £199 and it would still outsell the other two.

Yes they won the console war already...why after all it's only been out for nearly two years longer than either of the other two
As stated I believe a £99 drop is possible but not until Christmas and Sony is currently reviewing Sales figures and then may consider a drop. The first drop will most probably be to £150 as it doesn't have to compete with the GC so much as its quite different from the PS2. The GC is more a pure Games Console where as the PS2/XB are both Console with other Multimedia intensions.

Yes, but the other two are also losing ground in current sales. Quite bad when you have a 25 million unit defecit to overturn.

XB is doing bad granted but the GC will pick up ground and the user base of the PS2 remains not only because the games are good but also people use them as DVDs players giving it a longer life.

but seriously. i don't think we'll see £99 PS2's until next year.

yeah i remember seeing a ad, something like buy 5 games and get a PS2 for 99quid - hmmmm. I agree it'll probably drop to £150 first
