Since NF on Hib/Pry I've had a 30 second pulsing lag.. On my perf it's green all the time but then it goes yellow and the red every 30 secs :( This is making impossible play. It's not just NF either, I log into a small dungeon miles away from anywhere and I get the same.

Download speeds are fine, system settings are fine, no spyware present, windows updates (up-to-date), Virus Scan ran, nothing running or hogging resources in task manager….

I log onto Excal and no problems! I log on to any other server and I don’t have these problems :(

I can only conclude that it's not a system problem and more server related.

Nikolas,

If its any consolation, I have EXACTLY the same syptoms as you. I play Midgard Prydwen. I have a few toons on Hib, Excal, and when I log one one I have no connection probs at all.

Strangely though, a friend who plays the same server, uses the same ISP, and lives just down the road has no problems.... I'll ask him to log on an excalibur toon tonight and see how he gets on.

Its annoying, coz NF is a lot of fun!

I'm not looking forward to going through the usual automated Right Now process! :)

Let me know how you get on with this on (I'll do the same)

Cheers

I've seen exactly the same, and rightnowed it.

It's only the last two links, and you get perfect connection for a while, then lag spikes at 5 seconds.

Its the Opentransit lagspikes we have had for 2 months now, its not GOA's serves - they actually do run pretty good.

Opentransit is an ISP company that runs major routers out of france, and they have fucked up somewhere (probably a faulty/overloaded router cluster) causing all daoc players that connect to the servers from outside of france to experience these 5-10 sec lagspikes at even intervals.

Run Pingplotter (and target your daocserver) or something similar and send the results to GOA and they can forward it to OT - not that its been helping so far but maybe if they get enough theyll do something.
