I'm really hoping that someone can help me with this because it's really annoying me and the WON UK website is the worst I've seen in years.
Whenever I try to connect to a counterstrike server I get the following error message in the console:
'This server is using a newer protocol ( 40 ) than your client ( 42 ). You should check for updates to your client.'
I have all the latest patches and have updated everything I can think of. I have reinstalled, removed and reinstalled again and I still get this. I'm using Win2K but before you say it I was playing CS on Win2k fine up to beta 6.5 so it shouldn't be that. Anyone have any ideas at all?
