1. Don't spend any money on blacksmithing or jewelcraft until you're at least 60 and in inferno - its not worth it. The money you save can buy sick sick sick weapons ( and gems/armour ) from the AH that will be far superior to anything you make and likely anything you find.

2. When you're looking for a sick weapon on the AH make sure you filter for "reduces level requirement", for eg i'm using a level 60 weapon that equips at 53 because of this - when you search you must search for up to level 60 not 53 as the AH will only find it if you're looking at level 54-60 weapons - you won't find it looking for level 53 weapons. You can find a REALLY gamebreaking weapon for yourself this way.

3. Elective mode. Switch this on - it lets you have more than 1 ability from the same tree on your bars. You could have all 4 from the same tree if you wanted.

Good tips, though 1st won't work in hardcore. Best bet is to first dump all cash in inventory/smithing as that's the one thing you'll carry over -when- you die ;)

Yar, and also helps you store your "second incarnation" gear for your class(i have a set of demon hunter gear ready for act 1) and smith the best possible gear if you're missing some/roll another class.

Fuck :|

Checked #2, found a decent weapon which said "required level 34". Cool i thought, it has -4 level on it, so i can equip it at level 30.

I heard you can re-forge via Blacksmithing but have not seen anything on this.

Reforge scrolls were removed in beta somewhere according to various forum posts...

/edit: http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/01/27/diablo-3-loses-companion-pets-and-scrolls-of-reforging/
The Scroll of Reforging would let players change the properties of an item entirely on the fly. As with the pets, Blizzards say that the scrolls felt “underdeveloped and just not quite good enough for the game in their current state.”

So the scrolls might make a comeback.

Hold shift to stand still and attack, useful for hard encounters where you want to keep distance.

Go to skills screen and then go into the screen of whatever key/mousebutton you want to change.
In non elective mode you have the skill icons at the top for you to select which skill you want to assign to that key, with elective mode arrows appear on either side to those icons. Click either of those arrows and you go to screen of the next/preceding skill set where you can select a skill icon from that screen, you can scroll through your whole skill set that way.

Keep an eye out on the auction house for all gear, some bargains about for very reasonable amounts of gold. Learn to use those filters!

Never thought of this! Good tip :)

If Wizard, use venom hydra!

Definetaly a must for HC characters, the HC auction house is a bit mroe limited due to less palyers playing HC, but it does have a ton of bargains. 2k for a lovely 1h crossbow with lifesteal, life after kill etc...mmmm.

BAsically; if you plan on buying something from a vendor, go to AH.

Also, advanced/extended tooltips, your friend.

Ugh why do they dumb the interface setup down so you don't have access to the useful stuff out of the box?! Anyway thanks for pointing that out, very handy!
