Interesting read on the Reg about the latest AudioCD control software, and how to get disinfect your computer after you encounter it (Source)
Basically, it automatically installs a hardware driver onto your system to provide the pops and crackles on any rips you take, but this relies on Windows "Auto Run" to install. It doesn't appear that it informs you by the way...
Now, the name of the driver can be indentified from the article so it can be removed, you can also disable AutoRun (or hold "Shift" when inserting), but what about ways of blocking a specific driver by name? Are there ways of intercepting such software behavior?
I wonder if they had it WHQL certified? WinXP will scare the crap out of "average users" if it hasn't.
