Processor speed 0??

I have one big, gigantic problem with my shuttle no.2. :(
Started a new thread for this because I don't think it's really related to the shuttle system itself.

Win ME
SB51G
2.53 PIV
768 MB/333 RAM (though it runs on 266 atm)
Gforce 4MX/400

I flashed the latest BIOS last night, too.

And here is my problem: no games won't play- at all.

First I had a problem with Direct3D - every single test with dxdiag failed. I suspected that the earlier DirectX 9.0 installation was faulty, formatted the HD, reinstalled Win ME, Detonator drivers - and the tests finally worked. Installed the latest DirectX - it still worked.

Tried to launch Star Wars Galaxies - error: Processor speed: 0. (!)
Same with Planetside and MoH:AA. It starts booting, then ctd's.

msinfo32 shows my processor, though.
"Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz GenuineIntel ~2539 Mhz"

A classic case of wtf is going on? I admit that I am absolutely clueless and hope that one of you guys can help me.

eep. um, a guess here: go into your bios and reselect your CPU. save&exit. boot windows. it's a guess mind you. your problem sounds quite bizarre. good luck!

oh, and you might need to make sure your BIOS settings are correct, assigned video ram, etc ... flashing your BIOS would probably have removed some of your settings.

Sounds like a plausible solution - I just checked my BIOS - where exactly is the CPU displayed? Can't find it anywhere. *is a n00b when it comes to such things*

Silverhood: I know ME is crud - but the wife can't use a German Windows and ordering a UK or US version doesn't make sense because we'll move back to the US at the end of this month.
If I want it or not, I'll have to live with it for now. :(

For the Shuttle bios iirc i don't think there is a cpu speed setting as such.

When it boots i assume it says the right speed/processor post.

Check in the bios under:

Advanced Cipsets feqatures i think

CPU interface is optimal

System Performance is optimal etc etc

You get the idea, if that doesn't do it then manualy set the values.

All i can suggest :(
