Problems updating

Hi all,

decided to give DAoC a try after several years of being away, but for some reason I can't connect to the update server. The updater gives the "Error Message (404) -- Cannot connect to update server. Wait a while etc." error over and over again. No software firewall and I've tried with two different connections, but the same problem on both. All other online games & whatnot work perfectly with both connections.

So is there some weird port stuff that DAoC needs or is the update server just down?

Which client are you using to connect ?

(I'm not sure whether it'd make a difference, but several of the older clients have been superceded by others that are downloadable from the GOA site)

Alright, problem solved. For some reason, update.dat was pointing to /updates/english/labyrinth (which obviously doesn't exist yet) on the update server, so I changed that to updates/english/darkness and what do you know, it worked.

In case someone else comes across this problem too.
