can someone tell me how it is possible to go from having a PII-333 to a 1.3Ghz Athlon and get a WORSE connection with the same modem???????

I am now having bad spike trouble and pings at least 50 higher then with the old setup :(

The modem drivers are fooked yes?

Or installed twice?

Remove drivers, switch off, remove modem, switch on.
Switch off, re-insert modem switch on, install drivers.

Failing that, BUY A DIAMOND EXTERNAL MODEM.

How many times do I have to tell you?

Staz what was the point in that post, Rebel only lives down the road from you. If you can't be arsed to visit then you could phone him.
Rebel, swap your modem for 2 paper cups and a bit of string and you should get a better connection than me.
