Problem with my CPU

hey peeps,

well i bought me a new CPU and mob: AMD2000+ and elitegroup K72a5 or what its called.

wehn i boot the PC up, it crashes a few times and at it says "AMd unknown prozessor 1700MHZ.

hope someone of u could help me with this as i'm a real noob when it comes to this stuff.

also says when i wanna play Yager for example that my CPU needs to have SSE or something...

have you been into the BIOS to check the cpu's settings? it may be possible that it needs confirming before the board will run.
also giving an approximate name for a product isn't helping us to help you. is your mobo a K7S5a like this or is it the pro version. they're different you see.

you might need to flash the bios to the latest version to get the chip to be properly recognised, especially since its coming up as an "unknown" cpu when its on the supported CPU list.

mind i was never one who trusted elitegroup motherboards in the first place.
