problem with decals

hi all

ive been having problems with decals (spray images for the newbies) i can see my own and the origional ones. but all custom ones apear as a smiley face made with bullet holes.

please tell me this can be fixed.

in your config.cfg, add the following lines

r_decals 300
cl_allowdownload 1
cl_download_ingame 1
cl_allowupload 1

that should enable u to download other peoples decals, and hopefully they should see yours as well. You will know if it works because you will get a small progress bar at the bottom of the screen.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't think BW allow custom decals.

No they don't allow them, which is crap. My only other complaint is the lack of friendly fire. I know they run ONE ff server, but more would be nice.

HizBullah have a custom decal, and I can see it fine on BW servers. And before you say "that's because you've got it on your machine", I initially connected to a server without having it, had one of my teammates spray it, and could see it fine (so it obviously downloaded when I connected)

Well, BW is wierd. 9 out of 10 decals people spray, comes out as the standard (and very irritating) "hostage rescue point" decal.

Occasionally, I see the proper custom decal that people spray...

What I've decided is that I must have played with that person on a different server (non-BW) that allows up/downloading and now it's stored on my machine. Hence, when I play them on a BW server, and they spray, I can see the logo.
