All the usual stuff - check for viruses, check you have directx 9, latest drivers for your graphics card, delete the original installation and re-install, make sure you can download any patches required - that your firewall if you have one isn't blocking it, that your firewall isn't blocking the game etc etc

Good Luck :>

as illu said.
usefull software is Norton Antivirus and Ad-aware.

AND MAKE SURE U HAVE THE LATEST VIRUS/SPYWARE DEFINITIONS

So run the updates for both Norton and Ad-aware!

You have to get norton from DC Kazaa iMesh or whatever you use.
But Ad-aware can be downloaded from this location: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/adaware.html

if neither of these programs find anything and you have the latest updates for windows, gfx drivers, directx, etc.. then u have to do a repair on your windows.

reboot your computer and put the Windows installation CD in your CD-ROM drive. At first "do you want to install" screen choose repair by pressing <R>, now a screen with allmost the same question appears again. But this time choose install by pressing <Enter>.
Now it will appear like you are making a new installation of windows but infact it's just replacing all windows system files.
When you're done with the installation you will boot up your computer normally and it will look and work exactly like before, but without any problems/hangups/blue-screens.

if this doesn't solve your problem the last way out is format C:
