Problem connecting to servers since 1.16n installed

OK, I've got problems since I patched to point release 1.16n this morning to match the server updates.

I get thrown out of Barrysworld and UKCCL servers as soon as I get into the map. No warning or message - just straight out to the main menu. What is odd about this is that I've tried four other point release 1.16n pure servers selected at random, without any problems. There seems to be something unique to the Barrysworld and UKCCL server setups that is stopping me from playing on them.

I have a few player models installed (Harvey, Nrk, She'k, Horny etc.) plus some custom maps. I also have the map menu utility uiarena, which I temporarily removed to check that it wasn't that which is causing the problem. Otherwise my setup is pretty standard, nothing special. It doesn't answer the question though, why the problem appears to be unique to Barrysworld and UKCCL servers.

It looks like I have no chance of playing in Q3 matches until this is sorted

It seems that the BarrysWorld and UKCCL servers don't like the menu utility UIARENA. I thought yesterday it wasn't that but I didn't remove it completely when testing yesterday, I just renamed it. I stripped out all my custom models, maps and the utility today and, once I found I could connect without them, I put them back one by one and tried connecting each time.

Strange that I had no problems with connecting to everyone else's pure 1.16n servers.

It's a shame, it's a cool utility that shows all your custom maps in the Q3 menu whether or not the pak files contain an .arena file (.arena files allow the maps to show in the menu). I've found how to write my own .arena files and insert them into the map pk.3 files so I can do that for the remainder that haven't got them. Map authors are now more aware of .arena files so its likely to be less of a problem in the future anyway.

/me much relieved!

If anyone is interested in .arena files, just ask and I'll post instructions here.
