Yes it is - but a casual player might not really have the need for TG stuff?
My analogy with cars still applies:
A skoda will take you from point A to point B - aka getting the job done.
A porche will also get the job done - but slightly faster.
Most TG items are luxury items - it's not something you need to get the job done.

Asking for such extortionate amounts has put them permanently out of reach of the player who doesn't want to be forced to spend all their game time, for quite a while, doing nothing but farming to sate someone else's greed.
It's really gotten out of hand.
